Using Blender for Better Robots!

November 19, 2010

Since my laptop has fainted with all my data aboard I’ve downloaded the Blender freeware and have been learning that. It works pretty well! Most of all it’s compatible with the free Unity game engine. I’ve been fascinated with the idea of developing a mech based game where you are diffusing IBMs (inter-cont.-ball-miss) around the globe in timed missions. I’ve developed this mecha inspired by The Black Dog’s Genetically Modified music… It’s only a hull right now but I’ll be adding new parts procedurally. 🙂

Walk and run cycles made inside Blender’s non-linear editor. No endo-sketch yet but you can see the humblee beginnings…

Hope you get a chance to check out the free software from the Unity Game Building environment to Blenders awesome suite of totally game engine friendly tools at these links.  Also go download Black Dog Productions “Genetically Modified” from Amazon NOW or just listen!
